MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif--Freescale Semiconductor has launched "Freescale Mobile" for selected handset browsers, the firm said on Monday (Dec 12).
The initiative, aimed at design engineers or anyone who needs on-the-go access to Freescale information, means the firm's portfolio of embedded processing products is now available for perusal on a cell phone.
With all Freescale's data adapted to a mobile format, the firm said users could now search for and view full product information, download documents, set personal preferences and buy directly from one's phone. It also allows users to hone their preferences by geography and device.
"Engineers, students and customers will be able to browse Freescale's embedded product portfolio on their smartphone or mobile device," said senior vice president and chief sales and marketing officer, Henri Richard.
Freescale said that because the mobile site was a web page and not an app, it didn't require download, or any updates or upgrades in order to use it.
