32 semiconductor funding deals raised $357.8 million, says the GSA, which represented a dollar decrease of 62.9% from the $965.6 million raised in 2012.

In December, two semiconductor funding deals raised $24.0 million.

Semiconductor start-ups received $19.6 million in first round financings in 2013, a decrease of 75.9% from the $81.4 million received in 2012.

No IPO filings from semiconductor companies were reported in December and there are currently no semiconductor companies awaiting an IPO pricing.

There were significantly less M&As in 2013 with only 38 semiconductor deals of entire companies announced, a decrease of 59 such deals YoY.

The largest M&A deal in December and the second largest deals of 2013 occurred when Avago Technologies entered into a definitive agreement to acquire LSI Corporation for $6.6 billion.
