HiSilicon licenses eSilicon's 40-nm TCAMs

SAN FRANCISCO—Chinese ASIC vendor HiSilicon Technologies Co. Ltd. has licensed 40-nm ternary content-addressable memory (TCAM) macros from design and manufacturing services firm eSilicon Corp., eSilicon said Tuesday (Dec. 13).

HiSilicon (Shenzhen, China) will use the TCAM macros for its next generation of network-application ASICs, eSilicon (Sunnyvale, Calif.).

According to eSilicon, networking customers have been using its eFlexCAM embedded TCAM macros for more than 10 years to help them meet the demand for wire-speed packet processing, access control lists and other requirements of high-bandwidth delivery.
